Are there new E series chassis in the works?I'm on my second E-Series and strongly disagree with your assumption. I want stuff that's bad updated, and stuff that's good-enough kept to keep costs down. As an example, for motorhome use the E-Series beats Transit easily in my opinion, which is why it's the most common RV chassis. I really dislike the Transit as it first came out for RV use; granted RV not as big a market as commercial. I don't know what Ford was thinking with Transit but it explains why E-Series is still in production 10 years after it was suppose to go away. And I'm not only talking about higher GVWR, GCWR, and also truck-like ladder frame, I'm referring to cabin space and mobility within the cab when used as a camper.
There is a lot to improve and update on E-Series, and that's fine as long as price doesn't end up twice as high. That's what many repeat owners actually fear most IMO.Tue, 19 Nov 2024 04:02:33 +0000
