This rumor has been circulated for a few weeks at least. It was very clearly just AI images and renderings at first. But according to some more legit sources, where there's smoke, there's fire.
Some within Caterpillar are claiming this could be happening. Take it with a grain of salt. They were quoted talking about how the company is already making engine liners to test out for a V6 and a V8, this was a source who was verified to be an actual company employee I believe. I personally believe it's either made up, or they're planning on being an engine supplier to someone who's trying to enter the heavy duty pickup world.
