Additionally, industry has to follow buyers as much as government, otherwise they may manufacture vehicles that few want. Ultimately, I have faith that "we are the government", and will change those who represent us if their actions don't align with what we really want. Longer-term bureaucrats can't force things on us when enough buyers and voters resist.
