2005 Escape AC Electrical Issue?

I have a 2005 Escape with 99,000 miles, owned since new and regularly serviced. Recently the AC stopped cooling. Refrigerant and pressures check fine, switches in cabin seem to work fine, no fuses blown, no wiring frayed or shorting. Every now and then when changing temperature to the coldest setting, the unit blows very cold and does not stop blowing cold until you switch off the engine.
