I have an 05 Escape 3.0 AWD WITH 180k miles. While driving today it just started stuttering at about 55mph. I pulled over and noticed a popping sound coming thru the air intake / air box system. It does it at idle, under driving and etc. The truck has been sitting in the garage for about 6 hrs, had time to cool and did it right off the bat when i started it. Ive been surfing the web for hours and found a few youtube videos with the actual problem happening but no one mentions a fix...
