I have a 1999 contour with the 4 cylinder with the duel overhead camshaft. The timing belt went out and it was the idler pulley just below the exhast cam. The bolt had sheared off. I installed a new timing belt ,all new pulleys and slack aduj. I have put around 200 miles on it and the same thing has happened again,same pulley, same broken bolt and this was a grade 8 bolt. Did Ford have a problem with this or is it just my bad luck?Do I need to go to Ford for a special bolt ?
